Mo Salah, Mo Salah , Running down the wing
Liverpool thrash Roma 5-2 at Anfield on Tuesday night as Moh Salah was in the score sheet with a brace against his old club. Roberto Firmino imitated the Egyptian King and also scored his 2 goals. Sadio Mane, the last member of the deadly trio, chipped in with his contribution as he scored past Alisson. Roma started with a 3 at the back, playing Juan Jesus, Manolas and Fazio at the back. This narrow back 3 meant there was enough space to exploit in the wings. Roma tried to hold on to possession at the start and planned a back 5 when Liverpool had possession. Roma knew about Van Djik's strength in the air and avoided crossing the ball. Di Francesco instructed Dzeko to hold up the ball and lay to the supporting cast Under and Nainggolan to have a go at the goal.
Liverpool used Van Djik's great passing ability as the Reds had 77 long balls in the night. Problems started to arise when Liverpool got hold of the possesion. Roma were poor in transition and Liverpool and deadly trio run riot at Alisson's goal. Huge spaces were exploited as the high line of Roma struggled to track back.

Liverpool were 2-0 up at half time and scored 3 more before 70 minutes.
Roma shifted back to their customary back 4 at the end and this change in formation helped their game.
Although Liverpool are an amazing team when they attack, they have had their defensive woes all season. This match was no different. Bad defending from Dejan Lovren gifted Roma their first goal as he misjudged his header and Edin Dzeko slotted the ball past Karius.

Few minutes later a long shot hit Milner's hand and the referee, Felix Brych, awarded a penalty. Diego Perotti came on as a substitute to convert the penalty to somewhat keep Roma in the tie.
