Manchester City 0-0 Huddersfield Town (PL Review)

On the 6th of May Manchester City faced Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium. It was a special day for the Manchester City fans all over the world because City will be presented the Premier League Trophy after the game.
There were two changes in the City lineup from the previous league game. John stones played ahead of our captain Vincent Kompany as he started for the first time Since January. David Silva wore the captain's arm band as he came in the team for Îlkay Gündogān.
City started the first half on a very positive note. They put immense pressure on Huddersfield at the opening moments. De Bruyne got two great chances to score but he couldn’t make anything out of those. Jesus also wasted a few chances. Later in the first half Huddersfield also made two attempts on goal. They were looking pretty sharp at the end of the first half.

The second half began with a superb cross from David Silva but luckily for Huddersfield, no City player got on the end of it. City were making many attempts but a majority of those were off target. Midway in the second half Bernard Mendy came in for Fabian Delph. He too tried a shot from distance but missed the target. Late at the second half Huddersfield got two great chances to score against City, but they failed to capitalize on them. At last no team could break the dead lock and the game ended in a 0 – 0 draw.
City dominated about 80% of the ball possession and also created 15 shots in comparison to 5 from Huddersfield but could keep only 3 shots on target. This draw will surely boost the chances of Huddersfield Town to be in the Premier League for the next season as they remain 16th on the table with 36 points after 36 games.

The Citizens were presented the Premier League Trophy after the game. City captain, Vincent Kompany lifted the trophy along with all other City players. It was a great moment for the young future stars like Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz, Zinchenko as well as for players like Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sané, John Stones, Gabriel Jesus, Fabian Delph, Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi, Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho and Ederson as they lifted their first Premier League trophy. It was also a cherished moment for Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany who lifted their third Premier League title. City’s coach Pep Guardiola also finally won the Premier League.

The game was attended by a record number of City supporters as there was a carnival like atmosphere in the stadium as they clinched their third Premier League title and their fifth English League Trophy.
Manchester City will play Brighton on the 10th of May in the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League in which will be their last home game this season and give a deserving farewell to their midfield veteran Yaya Toure.
